Nigeria At 44

Corruption proliferates speedily
Evades the table of bread and wine
The masses without an option
Feeds on food meant for swine

The Green Men has left the imperial seat
Their bullets fly… creating extra breathing holes
The Men in Black joins in the deceit
Make friends in each other's eye foes

Money, women and popularity
Remains the goal in the ruler's mind
As sincerity and truth in this city
Seems onerous to find

Tears are shed in place of laughter
Sorrows till dawn won't take flight
Melancholy in the masses lives
Oh God what a fruitless plight

Those in power feeds like no tomorrow
Leaving no tidbit for poor dogs
In this struggle for survival
The diplomatically transmute like frogs

Since man can't kill his greedy nature
The masses should endure till a better future
As many lay their head down to sleep
Praying that the Lord their soul keep

BELIEF MAKES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE

In order to succeed, you must first believe that you can. The only true limit to your realization of tomorrow will be your doubts of today. The only thing that stands between you and what you want from life, is the will to try it and the faith to believe that it's possible.

The moment you carry the conviction of belief, in that moment your dream will become reality. you think you can, you can do it. So what do you believe in?

SUCCESSFUL ACTION IS CUMULATIVE IN RESULTS

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Many people take the first step and stop. Yet, with every additional step you take, you enhance immensely the value of your first step. All masters of success are chiefly distinguished by their power of adding a second, a third and perhaps a forth step in acontinuous line. Many people would say seven No's before they would say one Yes.

There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, or as the song puts it "one day at a time", all things in succession is the rule of life. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures. Do not despise the bottom rings in your ascent to greatness

Nigeria At 44

In a city of plenty
Hunger impulsively prevails
In a city of great wealth
Money out of control fails

With a vast Agricultural land
That is to flow with milk and honey
Yet humanity perish like insect
That's the truth, it ain't phoney

What we long for steadfastly
Has turn to what we now curse
The man that is a stupendous choice
Has now change his course

The cry of The African child
Has vanish from his mind
As he walks ceremoniously daily
Unwittingly being led by the blind

Corruption proliferates speedily
Evades the table of bread and wine
The masses without an option
Feeds on food meant for swine

What Then Is?

There isn't a beginning without an end
There isn't an enemy that wasn't once a friend
There isn't a pride without a fall
There isn't a walk without a crawl

There isn't a smoke without fire
There isn't a love without a desire
There isn't a sacrifice without pain
There isn't a lightening and thundering without rain

There isn't a time that'll forever last
There isn't a future without a past
There isn't a future without a present
There isn't a flower without a scent

There isn't a death without a suppurate
There isn't a pain the heart can't tolerate
There isn't an ecstasy without satisfaction
There isn't humility without elevation

There isn't a Spoken Word without a thought
There isn't a teacher that wasn't taught
There isn't a warrior without a bloody sword
There isn't a tree without a bud

There isn't a rose that isn't gotten from thorns
There isn't a lily that isn't gotten from mud
There isn't a giving without receiving
There isn't a word that isn't worth believing

There isn't a broken heart that can't mend
There isn't a hungry soul that can't be fed
There isn't a lost that can't be found
There isn't a thing that can't make a sound

My Best Friend

Friends are like precious diamond
Dear and rare, hard to find
Enemies are like gravels or stones
On the sands of time they don’t hide

The advices of friends are easy to heed
For they determine life’s zeal
Enemies’ advice are seldom taken
But sometimes makes perfection look real

Joy envelops the heart when friends meet
And tears of joy when they asunder part
Enemies are never made but are
And negatives proliferates in their heart

The cry of a friend is always heard
Because it’s clear and simple
But that of an enemy
Always lure many people

Friendship is the unsinkable ship
That can sail through the raging sea with ease
Enmity is like an un-captained ship
Sailing, one would know no peace

THE ODDS ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU IF YOU TRY

Success in anything is connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes but they don't quit. For quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit; so are you a WINNER?
Just hang on long after others have let go, and you would see the truth which they have being speaking about. Remember the story of the merchants looking for oil in Texas? They search all day but just a little step to success they left the job and when another came to it he only had a little dig and was made the richest man in the Texas county.

You must have persistence. Keep trying is the rule that you must follow to become successful in anything. Persistence means taking pains to overcome every obstacle, to do all that is necessary to reach your goal.

You must never, never, never give up!

The Elixirs of A Smile

It cost nothing but creates much
Enriching those who freely gives
With it Midas’s touch and power
It gladdens those who receives

Though it happens in a flash
Its memories always last long
Some could be done in total disguise
But its efficacies are never wrong

It creates happiness in the home
Fosters goodwill in a businesses
Forms a good banter on the phone
Frees any laden with distresses

It gives strength to the weak
Daylight to the broken hearted
Sunshine to them that are sad
And nature’s antidote for the departed

Cannot be bought or begged for
Cannot be borrowed or stolen away
For it’s of no earthly good to anyone
Until it is freely given away

YOU ARE WHAT YOU REPEATEDLY DO

First you make your habits, and then your habits make you. Your habits are end product of your thought i.e. your thoughts becomes words and words becomes actions and actions repeatedly carried out forms you habit which forms you. You become a slave to your constantly repeated acts. What at first you chose, at last compels.

Or better say it this way, your thoughts lead you to a purpose. Your purpose moves you to take action. Your actions form your habits. Your habits determine your character, and your character fixes your destiny.

Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters. Once in motion, a pattern tends to stay in motion. “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way in the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever widening thought and action.... into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake.” -Rabindranath Tagore

On The Road To Emmaus

They walked and talked together
Like wanderers without a guide
Sadness was the tone of their voices
Regrets on their faces barely hide

A known stranger slipped amid them
Without recognition, never knowing who He was
They reproved him for being a novice
Claiming all they’ve know were false

With a listening ear and tender heart
He heard and bore their entire plight
And when He was given a chance to speak
He showed them the way of light

He elucidated the truth to them
In the way He alone could
And for six hours non grew weary
Neither did any quest for food

As they drew near their abode
He walked as though leaving them behind
But their heart urged him so stay
Knowing they won’t find another of His kind

As they sup together brotherly
Breaking of bread He did as usual
Realization then dawn on them
As they saw the supernatural

They finally knew who He was
For the truth they brought to us
If you believe; then you could be one of us
On the dusty road to Emmaus
